A wide view of rolling fields fading towards the horizon, painted in watercolour with a loose, rapid stroke. In the foreground appear a white roof, dark scrub and bare branches; beyond, plots in pale greens and ochres beneath a greyish-mauve sky. The haze of distance gives the landscape a wintry calm.
