A field of poppies bursts into reds and pinks under a blue sky with white clouds. In the background, above the houses and the hills, rises the fortress of Vélez-Málaga with its great keep in ochres and siennas. The loose, wet watercolour lets the colour blend and splash freely, and the patches of white paper bring light to this spring in the Axarquía.
