A wetland in watercolour, with sheets of still water reflecting clumps of reeds and shrubs in ochres, greens and reddish tones. In the background, a line of bluish trees fades beneath a grey sky. The loose brushwork and the white of the paper convey the filtered light of an overcast day by the river.
