A wide grey sky fills almost the whole painting above a calm beach. At the water's edge, a few small figures, some with dogs, walk along the sand beside a silvery sea. In the distance, a dark line of coast closes the horizon. A watercolour in a very restrained palette of greys, blues and earth tones, with a hushed atmosphere.
