A damp corner of woodland by the water, with clusters of white, round-capped mushrooms in the foreground. Greens, blues and yellows merge in loose patches that suggest moss, leaves and reflections, while fine branches cross the composition. The very fluid watercolour conveys the dappled light and coolness of the undergrowth.
