An elevated view opens over a valley of green fields, with two pale patches of water or earth in the centre and hedges dividing the plots. In the foreground, dark grasses and branches frame the scene; on the right, a tree with fine branches and small red berries. The watercolour, beneath a greyish-mauve sky, conveys a damp, tranquil atmosphere.
