A Venetian canal in watercolour, with a gondolier standing and rowing in the foreground and several boats moored beside the ochre façades on the left. In the background, a wide-arched stone bridge and the outline of the city beneath a greyish sky. The water, in turquoises and blues, is full of loose, luminous reflections.
