A reddish brick house and a whitewashed one with a bluish-grey roof sit beneath a group of flat-topped pines. In the foreground, a wall or sheet of water with ochre and green patches, and dark grasses along the bottom edge. A white, milky sky envelops the scene, painted in watercolour in a restrained, autumnal palette.
