Water lily leaves float on turquoise water that grows lighter towards the background, where the light turns golden. On the left, reeds and tall grasses fall in loose verticals over the bank. The watercolour works with transparencies and fluid patches, letting the white of the paper act as reflections on the surface of the pond.
